SoftBank (SFTBF) CEO and Sprint (S) Chairman Masayoshi Son characterized U.S. wireless service as dismal and reaffirmed that his company wants a bigger part of the market, the Wall Street Journal reports. Google (GOOG) is looking to sell mobile phone plans directly to customers while managing their calls and mobile data over a cellular network, reports The Information. According to people with knowledge of the plans, the new service is expected to run on Sprint (S) and T-Mobile (TMUS) networks.
