Raytheon (RTN) and Lockheed Martin (LMT) are battling to become Germany's air-defense system as the political crisis in the Ukraine increases, reports the Wall Street Journal. Lockheed Martin Corp., Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co., Fort Worth, Texas, is being awarded a $232,794,734 cost-plus-incentive-fee modification to the previously awarded F-35 Lightning II Low Rate Initial Production Lot VI contract. This modification provides for non-recurring sustainment activities, to include procurement of 19 training devices and 69 items of complex support equipment. Work is expected to be completed in June 2017. Fiscal 2012 aircraft procurement funds and international partner funds in the amount of $232,794,734 will be obligated at time of award, $190,999,120 of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. 10:01 EDTLMTGD C4 Systems SATCOM Technologies receives contract from Lockheed
General Dynamics (GD) C4 Systems SATCOM Technologies received a contract from Lockheed Martin (LMT) to design and build the ground structures and integrate the mechanical systems for the U.S. Air Force Space Fence program. The new advanced ground-based radar system will enhance the way the U.S. detects and tracks more than 100K orbiting objects in space and increase the ability to prevent space-based collisions. The improved situational awareness will help protect space-based assets like the International Space Station from potential collisions that could severely damage, disable or destroy it. Construction of the Space Fence ground system will begin mid-2015 on the Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. The U.S. Air Force contract value awarded to Lockheed Martin is greater than $910M.

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training, Moorestown, New Jersey, has been awarded a $193,610,317 modification to previously awarded contract number HQ0276-10-C-0001 for procurement of necessary material, equipment, and supplies to conduct the technical engineering to define, develop, integrate and test Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense 4.1 and 5.0 Capability Upgrade baselines through their respective certifications. This modification brings the total cumulative face value of the contract to $2,002,542,722 from $1,808,932,405. Work will be performed at Moorestown, New Jersey, with an expected completion date of May 31, 2016. Fiscal 2014 research, development, test and evaluation funds in the amount of $19,500,000 are being obligated at time of award. The Missile Defense Agency, Dahlgren, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
