theflyonthewall.com: Four Range Resources insiders sold more than 134,000 shares, Barron's reports
Range Resources (RRC) shares rose 57% this year, providing opportunity for company executives to cash in on some of their shares. Director Anthony Dub sold 10,000 shares on Monday for $556,000, or about $55.56 per share on average. CFO Roger Manny exercised options and sold 35,182 shares on Friday for $2M, or about $56.30 per share. Senior vice president Rodney Waller exercised options and sold 34,057 shares on Friday for $1.9M, or about $57.23 per share. Senior vice president Chad Stephens exercised options and sold 55,487 shares on Friday for $3.1M, or about $56.53 per share. The options that Manny, Waller and Stephens exercised were set to expire in February. Each of the insiders continues to hold a sizeable stake in the company, more than 100,000 shares each, but none owns more than 1% of the company's stock. Waller sent top investors and analysts an e-mail about the sales on Monday, explaining that the insiders were exercising their options and selling the shares for tax reasons. Top insiders also sold last year for similar reasons. Ray Deacon, an analyst at Pritchard Capital Partners who rates the company at Buy, says the selling doesn't surprise him. "It's pretty richly valued, so people are taking a profit." Reference Link :theflyonthewall.com

theflyonthewall.com: Range Resources increases unproved resource potential
RANGE RESOURCES CORPORATION announced hat its unrisked unproved resource potential as of December 31 increased to 44 - 60 Tcfe, up from 35 - 52 Tcfe at year-end 2010. The year-end 2011 results include 35 - 49 Tcf of natural gas and 1.5 - 2.0 billion barrels of NGLs and crude oil. Of the total year-end 2011 unproved resource potential, 54% is attributable to the Marcellus Shale with the remaining 46% attributable to other formations in Appalachia, the Midcontinent and West Texas. Range previously announced that its year-end 2011 proved reserves were 5.1 Tcfe. Based on the mid-point of the unproved resource potential, Range has the opportunity to grow its proved reserves over 10 times. No unproved resource potential estimates were assigned to the Company's Utica acreage. In addition, the estimated unproved resource potential assumes no ethane extraction. If the ethane volumes were included, the Company estimates that its total unproved resource potential would increase to 47 to 66 Tcfe, including 2.3 - 3.1 billion barrels of NGLs and crude oil. :theflyonthewall.com
