06:36 EDTRJET, ERJ, AAMRQRepublic Airways signs long-term agreement with American Airlines
Republic Airways (RJET) has reached an agreement with American Airlines (AAMRQ) to operate 53 Embraer E175 aircraft under the American Eagle brand. The Capacity Purchase Agreement will be operated by the company’s Republic Airlines subsidiary, with service expected to start in June. The CPA is subject to approval by the Bankruptcy Court in the American Airlines bankruptcy proceedings. Republic also signed an agreement with Embraer (ERJ) to purchase 47 new aircraft and lease a previously owned Embraer E175 jet aircraft, including the first deliveries of Embraer’s enhanced fuel performance aircraft. In addition, the Company will acquire five previously owned E175s from a third party.

United Airlines (UAL) announced a capacity purchase agreement for SkyWest Airlines, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SkyWest (SKYW), to operate 40 Embraer (ERJ) 175 aircraft under the United Express brand. SkyWest will purchase the 40 76-seat aircraft with deliveries in 2014 and 2015. These aircraft are in addition to 30 Embraer 175 aircraft that United previously announced it will purchase and which will be operated by a United Express carrier, also scheduled for delivery between 2014 and 2015.
