11:17 EDTRJET, AAMRQ, LCCRepublic Airways CEO sees AMR deal to be modified after creditor push-back
On its Q4 earnings conference call, Republic Airways (RJET) CEO Bryan Bedford said that "several" objections were filed in response to the previously announced CPA agreement between Republic and American Airlines (AAMRQ) from various AMR labor groups. Bedford also said "several questions" were raised by AMR's unsecured creditors committee and that Republic will work with American to respond to those concerns. The CEO said he expects the agreement as was initially negotiated will be modified to address the concerns, including the removal of six used aircraft. The motion to approve the revised CPA is now expected to be heard on March 12, Bedford noted. Bedford also updated the sale process for Frontier, being run by Barclays. The CEO noted the company is bound by nondisclosure agreements, but can confirm discussions with "a number of interested parties." The company expects to have a decision on the path forward in the next month or so and would currently expect that if a transaction were to occur it would be closed by the end of Q2. Bedford cautioned he was "not speculating on whether or not we will receive any acceptable offers."
