Questcor (QCOR) is climbing after disclosing in a regulatory filing that paid subscriptions for its Acthar drug for two indications rose in June, compared with May. Paid prescriptions of Acthar for Multiple Sclerosis rose to 400-410 in June from 365 in May, while paid prescriptions of the drug as a treatment for Nephrotic syndrome in June reached 115-120, up from 103 in May. Questcor reported that it shipped a total of 1,800 vials of Acthar in June, and 4,710 vials for the quarter ended June 30. In May 2012, the company shipped a total of 1,560 vials of Acthar. In a note to investors earlier this morning, research firm Jefferies wrote that the data indicates Questcor will report higher than expected Q2 net sales. The firm increased its estimates for the company and raised its price target on the stock to $60 from $56. Jefferies expects Questcor to report solid Q2 results and it reiterated a Buy rating on the shares, which gained $7.09, or 14.12%, to $57.32 in late morning trading. | |
