Foxconn Electronics Chairman Terry Guo said he believes that Qualcomm (QCOM), Sharp (SHCAY) and Foxconn will form the new triangle chain in the industry, reports DigiTimes. Foxconn stated Saturday it will "explore investment and partnership opportunities" with Sharp, reports the Wall Street Journal, citing an interview with Foxconn chairman Terry Gou in Toyo Keizai. When asked for comment, Foxconn told the Journal that any investments in Sharp will be based on "whether Foxconn will have the right to participate in business management to realize the shared goal of achieving sustainable business growth." Rovi (ROVI) announced that Rovi has renewed its interactive program guide, or IPG, product and patent portfolio license agreement with Sharp (SHCAY). The license provides Sharp with access to Rovi’s entertainment discovery capabilities worldwide and Rovi’s G-Guide HTML in Japanese markets for its popular AQUOS brand. The new G-Guide HTML features advanced discovery capabilities such as rich metadata, search functionality, and a browser-based interface to help drive a robust consumer entertainment experience across Sharp TVs and DVRs.
