17:02 EDTPXPraxair announces price increases for gas, facility fees effective January 1
Praxair, and its divisions and subsidiaries are notifying bulk and packaged, industrial, electronics, specialty and medical gas customers in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico of increases in prices effective January 1, 2013, or as contracts permit, as follows: up to 15% for nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide; up to 20% for argon and hydrogen; up to 30% for helium; up to 15% for facility fees or monthly bulk product charges and cylinder rental rates; up to 15% on hardgoods. Price adjustments will vary as permitted by individual supply contracts.

09:31 EDTPXPraxair signs long-term agreement with Castleton Commodities
Praxair announced that it has signed a long-term agreement with Castleton Commodities International for the refining and purchase of helium. CCI owns and operates a gas processing facility and helium refinery in Utah. Praxair has been actively developing helium-rich natural gas fields in the region, including helium associated with a recently announced purchase agreement with Nacogdoches Oil & Gas. With Praxair's additional feedstock, CCI will restart its idled refinery, which can produce up to 150 million cubic feet per year of liquid helium.

Praxair announced that it has acquired Tecnogas, a local producer and distributor of carbon dioxide and industrial gases in Peru. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. With annual revenue of approximately $10M, Tecnogas serves almost four hundred customers across a variety of end markets including food and beverage, healthcare and metal fabrication. Additionally, Tecnogas owns and operates three carbon dioxide production plants that Praxair will use to serve the growing demand for the gas in the country.
