14:25 EDTPAA, BPPlains All American says approved to purchase BP's Canadian NGL business
Plains All American Pipeline (PAA) announced that with respect to the pending acquisition by its wholly owned subsidiary Plains Midstream Canada ULC of BPs (BP) Canadian natural gas liquids business, the final regulatory closing condition under the Share Purchase Agreement has been satisfied. Subject to satisfaction of other customary closing conditions, the acquisition is anticipated to close early in the second quarter of 2012.

EU foreign ministers failed to impose any tough sanctions against Russia during a meeting of the bloc's foreign ministers yesterday, according to The New York Times. Given their dependence on Russia's energy, EU countries have "largely decided" they "have to live with" Russia, the newspaper stated.
