10:47 EDTOSK, NAVOshkosh jumps after estimating EPS will double
Vehicle maker Oshkosh (OSK) is surging after the company predicted that its earnings per share, or EPS, would double by fiscal 2015. Specifically, the company predicted that its EPS would reach $4.00-$4.50 in fiscal 2015, up from fiscal 2012 levels of $2.05-$2.15. Oshkosh, which presented the information in slides at its Analyst Day, expects its EPS to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 23%-30% between fiscal 2012 and fiscal 2015. For fiscal 2013, Oshkosh provided EPS guidance of $2.35-$2.60, versus analysts' consensus estimate of $2.51. The truck maker, however, expects its fiscal 2013 revenue to come in at $7.5B-$7.8B, versus the consensus of $7.84B. Furthermore, the company expects its free cash flow to decline in fiscal 2013, compared with fiscal 2012. In North America, however, Oshkosh anticipates that it will benefit from a favorable construction spending outlook, a strong truck rental market, and strong demand for trucks for use in energy projects and industrial retooling. Oshkosh indicated that it would "opportunistically" use its capital for share repurchases or acquisitions. In mid-morning trading, Oshkosh rose $1.35, or 4.91%, to $28.85. Oshkosh peer Navistar (NAV) is also trading higher in mid-morning trading.
