The Pentagon would save $75B over the next five years by making several accounting changes, according to Defense News, which cited the Obama administration's FY13 budget proposal. Under the proposal, the government would save $15.1B on Lockheed Martin's (LMT) F-35 Joint Strike fighter, and $900M by canceling Humvee recapitalization, added the publication. Oshkosh (OSK), which has built replacements for Humvee for the Pentagon in the past, is falling 95c, or 3.81%, to $23.97. Reference Link :theflyonthewall.com

The International Union, United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America ratified a new master labor agreement with Lockheed Martin covering approximately 650 workers at three sites. The new five-year agreement, ratified over the weekend, becomes effective immediately. The 100th and 101st Lockheed Martin commercial geostationary communication satellites have been successfully placed in orbit after a dual launch aboard an Ariane 5-ECA launch vehicle. Both satellites are based on Lockheed Martin's A2100 geosynchronous satellite series. Both satellites will undergo on-orbit checkout over the next few months prior to the start of operations. Jacobs Engineering (JEC) announced that AWE Management Limited, in which it has a one third share, has concluded the arrangements for the next pricing period regarding the contract to Manage and Operate the Atomic Weapons Establishment in the United Kingdom. Formed in 2000, AWE ML is a joint venture between Jacobs, Lockheed Martin (LMT) and Serco to manage AWE plc on behalf of the UK Ministry of Defence. The conclusion of recent negotiations is an important milestone although the contract has no material changes. The new arrangements will take effect from April 2013 and run through to March 2018.
