10:35 EDTYHOO, OPENOpenTable jumps after report says Yahoo may be interested
Shares of OpenTable (OPEN) are rallying after Reuters reported that Yahoo executives had shown interest in buying the restaurant reservation company. In a report published yesterday, the news service said that Yahoo executives appeared to be interested in OpenTable after viewing a pitch from bankers “on a slew of potential acquisitions." Privately held ad companies PubMatic, Turn and Millennial Media also piqued Yahoo's interest, while the Internet giant is in "low-level talks" with start-up Caterva, whose technology analyzes social media activity, Reuters said, citing unnamed sources. OpenTable declined to comment on the matter, Reuters added. In mid-morning trading, OpenTable rose $2.51, or 5.76%, to $46.10.
