This patented architecture, within a Lithium Ion battery for example, enables the protection function to completely and safely disconnect a charging source from any undesired conditions. For example, if a battery over-voltage condition occurs, a series of signals are triggered that enable the protection function. Bill Densham, strategic marketing director, O2Micro, said "This patent ensures that protection functions are fully executed after encountering a fault condition, protecting end users from potentially dangerous conditions caused by partially implemented protection." | |
