NYSE: U.S. markets 'performing well,' mutual fund inflows highest in 'some time' NYSE Euronext said on its Q4 earnings conference call that the "lackluster trading environment" continued to impact Q4 results but recent trends give the company reasons to be encouraged for 2013. Says capital flows into U.S. mutual funds are at "their highest level in quite some time," and that the company is hopeful this is an indicator of the reemergence of the retail investor and a resurgence of interest in U.S. equity markets. Says consolidated average daily volume in U.S. equities and options markets are showing "slight signs of improvement." Says the health of European financial institutions has improved, citing banks increasing the pace of their repayments from the ECB's three-year tender. Says trading volumes in its interest-rate complex in Europe were up around 40% year over year for January.
