NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) shipped 125M NFC chips for smartphones and tablets in 2012, the company said, NFC Times reported on Friday. The company estimated that a total of about 150M NFC chips were shipped last year, added the publication. Analysts had estimated that 100M NFC chips for smartphones would be shipped last year, NFC Times noted. Reference Link
