| theflyonthewall.com: | Novellus is nearing an uptrend support test | | The stock gapped down bearishly this morning along with many of the semiconductor names, and broke its 50-day moving average, last at $20.55. The 50-day is not however an uptrend line support proxy as it has been for several other semiconductor names. Uptrend support is better constructed with a hand-drawn support line connecting the March and August lows and then projecting forward. Today, that line would intersect price at $19.14. This could be a downside objective before any meaningful bounce, with the risk that a break would end the seven-month-long uptrend. In the event of a break, the following support levels could become additional downside objectives: $18.67, $18.38, $18.08. Resistance is currently at $19.92, $20.31. :theflyonthewall.com |
