Northern Trust has been appointed by the Administering Authority for the Merseyside Pension Fund, Wirral Metropolitan Council (Merseyside), to provide global custody, investment accounting, securities lending and commission recapture services for approximately GBP4.5B ($7.2B) in pension fund assets. This latest appointment brings Northern Trust’s total assets under custody for LGPS to $100B, representing a 43% share of the total local government pension schemes market in the UK (by asset size). | |
