Wells Fargo says any final decision on the Number Portability Administration Center contract with the FCC could "easily take" another 12 months to be announced given the legal and procedural issues around the contract. Wells notes that NeuStar would still receive revenue and free cash from the contract through mid 2017 even if the worst case scenario happens and it losses the contract. The firm has a Market Perform rating on the stock.

The report discusses national security concerns should NeuStar lose its $446M phone call routing contract to Ericsson (ERIC), as recommended to the FCC by a private phone-industry panel, the paper adds.
