In an effort to narrow the difference in costs to manufacture compact and subcompact vehicles, some automakers may move production of compact cars out of the U.S., where it costs less to build them, freeing U.S. manufacturing locations to build more popular mid-size vehicles and crossovers, reports the Detroit News.
