Market resumes recent downtrend Stock futures weakened during the pre-market trading session in reaction to several emerging market currencies, including the Turkish lira and the South African rand falling against the U.S. dollar. The emerging market issues that have recently been a source of pressure on U.S. equities have reared their head again this morning, causing the broader market to lose everything it gained yesterday and more in early trading. Stocks have resumed their downtrend following a one day hiatus, with the Dow down about 105 points, the Nasdaq down 21 points and the S&P down 10 points in the early going.
