08:55 EDTFX Action: The dollar rallied broadly
FX Action: The dollar rallied broadly after the much stronger GDP outcome, taking EUR-USD to fresh trend lows of 1.3371, and USD-JPY to highs of 102.50. Equity futures rallied, as yields advanced as well. Initial euro support is seen at 1.3360-40, with the November lows of 1.3320-00 the next downside target from there. USD-JPY meanwhile, appears set to test June highs inside the 102.60-80 region.
08:45 EDTTreasury Action: yields shot higher
Treasury Action: yields shot higher after the expected Q2 GDP rebound came in much firmer than forecast at 4.0% and the big drop in Q1 due to the winter vortex was revised up substantively to -2.1% from -2.9% previously. That drove the 10-year yield back up over 2.51% from under 2.47% following the tepid ADP release. The 2s-10s spread unwound some recent flattening and traded back to +194 bp from +192 bp. This will give Fed hawks a little more ammo and could on the margin effect the tone of the Fed statement later.
