13:55 EDTFOMC Forecast revisions
FOMC Forecast revisions from the FOMC (Wednesday) will be one of the key results of the meeting and will be used to assess rate hike probabilities for later in the year, as well as the likely trajectory. Despite the bounce in growth optimism in recent weeks, the FOMC will likely trim the official GDP estimates for 2015. But, it is also expected to increase the 2015-16 PCE chain price projections as energy prices have partly recovered from early-2015 lows. Analysts expect a 0.1%-0.2% downward shift in the 2015 GDP central tendency of 2.3%-2.7%, and 0.4% boosts in the 2015 PCE chain price central tendency of 0.6%-0.8%, with likely additional upward nudge of 0.1% in the low-end inflation estimates for 2016. The core price central tendencies should remain roughly unchanged. The Fed may sidestep the usual downward bumps in the jobless rate estimates, given the flat jobless rate trend since February. The aggressive high-end near-term Fed funds rate estimates should be lowered as views converge toward the market expectation of a September or October start for Fed tightening. page for a table of our assumptions for the Fed's revised forecasts.

13:20 EDTU.S. equities have stalled again
U.S. equities have stalled again after rebounding with lows after Europe moved off its worst levels into the close, though the Euro Stoxx still settled 1.85% lower, the DAX down 1.89% and Athens -4.6% even as the euro recovered following mostly weak U.S. data. That allowed the major U.S. indices to bubble back up from lows and cut losses in half to the -0.30-0.45% area. Home builder stocks remained well bid after the merger between Standard Pacific and Ryland Group, and following the surge in NAHB. Cigna surged amid M&A speculation, boosting health care stocks too. SanDisk and Micron fell down 3-4% after an analyst rate downgrade. Within the Dow the worst performers are Caterpillar -0.6%, Goldman -0.5% and AMEX -0.5% with the financials under pressure, while the top gainer was Disney +0.2%. In the NASDAQ penny stock Axion Power surged over 250% after inking a licensing deal with LCB.

September 10s are still up 8-ticks near 125-18, but off earlier session highs of 125-31 compared to their 125-12 lows vs contract lows near 124-15 last week.
