| 13:28 EDT |  | | Correction: Global PMI reached seven month high, Reuters reports JPMorgan's Global Manufacturing PMI, an index of worldwide manufacturing activity, increased to 50.2 last month, up from 49.6 in November, according to Reuters. Last month marked the first time since May that the index rose above the 50 level, which divides growth from contraction, the news service added. | 10:10 EDT |  | | U.S. ISM non-manufacturing index inched up 0.6 to 53.7 in May U.S. ISM non-manufacturing index inched up 0.6 to 53.7 in May after dipping 1.3 points to 53.1 in April. The index has been as high as 56.0 in February, and hit a recent high of 56.1 in February 2012. The business activity index rose to 56.5 from 55.0. But, the employment component slid back to 50.1, just barely in expansionary territory, from 52.0. New orders rose to 56.0 from 54.5. New export orders declined to 50.0 from 53.5. Imports dropped to 49.. from 58.5. Prices paid were steady at 51.1 from 51.2. The composite services and manufacturing index was unchanged at 53.1. Not a great report and suggests a moderate gain in payrolls on Friday. |
