14:20 EDTMore from George:
More from George: the Fed hawk is anxious to move to normalization and said tapering will continue as long as the economy progresses. She expects the balance sheet to be near $4.5 tln, and would prefer the holdings to be all in Treasuries. There is a "reach for yield" going on in a number of places, she believes. Too-big-to-fail still exists and is a concern.

10:50 EDTTreasury 30-year auction outlook
Treasury 30-year auction outlook: the $13 B bond reopening should benefit from safe haven demand amid fears over the Portuguese banking sector, and more generalized worries over the financials in the periphery, as well as over Chinese growth. However, overnight flows have richened the wi 30-year bond yield by 4 basis points to 3.34% and that may make for a more difficult sale as major concessions today are unlikely. Nevertheless, the ongoing grab for yield should help underpin today's reopening. Curve trades are being deciphered. The 5s-30s spread is a fractionally wider at 171 bps, having edged off of 168 bps earlier in the week which was the narrowest since June 2009. Last month's auction was surprisingly strong, pricing through by 3 basis points to a 3.444% award rate with 2.69 cover, the highest since February 2013 and a 51.8% indirect bid, the second highest on record.
