14:10 EDTAnother VIX slamdown from highs
Another VIX slamdown from highs left the equity volatility index just above 13.40 session lows after topping out at 14.43 as the S&P 500 made its way back up from lows of 2,105.15 to 2,115.5. Life highs of 2,134.72 set on May-20 are still intact above after some fresh life was breathed into the energy sector by the crude run-up through $60 bbl again following the Baker-Hughes rig count skid, but there have been rampant stories of an oil cargo ship glut storing global supplies even as U.S. producers cut back. Within the Dow Intel +1.4%, Pfizer +1.3% and UnitedHealth +1.0% are all the top dogs, while P&G, Visa and Boeing are all down about 1%.

13:25 EDTEnergy Action: NYMEX crude crossed the $60.00 mark
Energy Action: NYMEX crude crossed the $60.00 mark, peaking at $60.06 following the Baker-Hughes rig count data, which revealed the shuttering of another 13 rigs, to 646 in the latest reporting week. Sources note a close over $60.00 will shift technical sentiment to the upside.
