Supplies of Nokia's (NOK) Lumia 920, which uses Microsoft's (MSFT) operating system, have been low in several regions, according to Boy Genius. Although supply issues have been partly responsible for this trend, Canaccord Genuity analyst T. Michael Walkley reports that the Lumia 920 was the third best selling device at AT&T (T) in November, Boy Genius says. Reference Link

AT&T (T) and Telefonica (TEF) last night announced plans for a limited trial of AT&T's home security and automation service in Europe. By licensing the AT&T Digital Life platform, Telefonica can offer trial users a wireless home automation platform all managed through an easy-to-use, web-based user interface. AT&T independently owns its platform, allowing for others to license a turnkey solution. AT&T Digital Life is an IP-based, all wireless, home security, smart automation and energy management solution, all contained in an easy-to-use mobile app. Telefonica is the first company to license AT&T's Digital Life platform.

Stating that fewer than 25% of American homes have access to more than one high speed Internet provider, FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler said the agency would look to promote additional choices in the sector, according to The New York Times. Wells Fargo believes that Ciena (CIEN) reported solid Q3 results, and the firm was encouraged by the news that the company was named as an AT&T (T) domain 2.0 supplier. However, the firm notes that Ciena's Q4 revenue guidance was lower than expected, partly due to the deal. Nonetheless the firm expects the factors that caused the guidance miss to be transitory, and it is upbeat about the company's outlook for FY15. Wells keeps an Outperform rating on the shares.
