U.S. Air Force awards Northrop Grumman $81M The U.S. Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman $81M for the engineering and manufacturing development phase of the Air Operations Center Weapon System modernization program. This award is options exercised on the contract first announced in March 2012. The authority to proceed with the EMD phase follows the Department of Defense Milestone B approval in October. During the EMD phase, the program will complete detailed design, formal test and field the modernized system to geographic AOCs. Key activities in 2014 include completing the critical design review and continuing the series of warfighter analysis workshops to demonstrate the system to operational users and incorporate their feedback to optimize system usability.
Northrop Grumman to supply AN/TPS-78 air defense royal systems Northrop Grumman has been selected by the Royal Thai Air Force to supply additional AN/TPS-78 air defense and surveillance radar systems. Under the terms of the contract, Northrop Grumman will begin supplying equipment to the Royal Thai Air Force in 2015. The company will also provide training, spares and logistics support.
