The Air Force Space Command's Space and Missile Systems Center has awarded Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NOC) Information Systems sector the Enhanced Polar System Control and Planning Segment contract. The base contract is for 18 months. The primary work will be done in Redondo Beach, Calif., with additional CAPS work performed in Orlando Fla., and Needham and Marlborough, Mass. The Northrop Grumman team includes General Dynamics (GD) C4 Systems, Inc.; Raytheon (RTN); Boecore, Inc.; Pollere, Inc.; Monterey Technologies, Inc.; Meadowgate Technologies, LLC; Perales Consulting Group, LLC; and Affigent, LLC.

12:01 EDTRTNNASA awards Raytheon $101.9M contract extension
NASA's Johnson Space Center has awarded to Raytheon a contract extension with a potential value of $101.9M. Raytheon will continue to provide operations, maintenance and engineering services for up to four years to NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Lab and Space Vehicle Mockup Facility, facilities that are critical to safe human spaceflight. The NBL is the deep water pool astronauts use for spacewalk training. The SVMF hosts full-size mockups and simulators for the International Space Station, Orion capsule and commercial space modules. Both facilities are used to test scenarios and new equipment for human spaceflight.

08:06 EDTRTNRaytheon awarded $900M contract by U.S. Special Operations Command
U.S. Special Operations Command has awarded the SOCOM-Wide Mission Support, or SWMS, contract to Raytheon Company. The multiple award is an indefinite delivery-indefinite quantity vehicle with a $900M ceiling. Under this Group A contract, Raytheon Blackbird Technologies will provide professional, program management and technical services to special operations forces, or SOF, around the world. The Group A SWMS contract vehicle is designed for large companies to work as prime contractors. It has a five-year ordering period.
