News Breaks | | | | February 11, 2013 | | 12:18 EDT |  | ICE, NDAQ, NYX, CG | Nasdaq rises after report says exchange held going private talks Nasdaq (NDAQ) is climbing after Fox Business News reported that the company recently negotiated with private equity firm Carlyle Group (CG) about going private. Price appeared to be the main sticking point between the companies, and the talks broke off, although they could resume, Fox Business stated, citing an unnamed source. In December NYSE Euronext (NYX), Nasdaq's competitor, agreed to sell itself to IntercontinentalExchange (ICE). Following the report, Nasdaq climbed $1.40, or 4.50% to $30.80, while CME (CME), which facilitates the trading of commodity futures, fell 0.50% to $57. | |
