Nasdaq (NDAQ) is restructuring FinQloud, a joint venture based on Amazonís (AMZN) cloud computing services, after it failed to gain traction with customers and top executives and others associated with the project departed, reported Financial Times. Most likely the terms of Nasdaq's agreement with Amazon will be renegotiated, but other options for FinQloud include a sale or shutting it down entirely, according to the report. Reference Link

The NASDAQ OMX Group (NDAQ) announced the results of the annual re-ranking of the NASDAQ-100 (NDX), which will become effective prior to market open on Monday, December 22. The following three companies will be added to the Index: American Airlines Group (AAL), Electronic Arts (EA) and Lam Research (LRCX). As a result of the revision in the index methodology allowing multiple share classes of index participants to be included in the index, the following three securities will also be added to the index: Comcast Corporation Class A Special (CMCSK), Twenty-First Century Fox Class B (FOX) and Liberty Global plc Class C (LBTYK). As a result of the re-ranking, the following three companies will be removed from the Index: Expedia (EXPE), F5 Networks (FFIV) and Maxim Integrated Products (MXIM).

Amazon.com has announced the "Make an Offer" experience that allows customers to negotiate even lower prices on thousands of items. Expanding on Amazonís traditional fixed price model, the new pricing feature allows customers to offer to buy items at even lower prices. If agreed upon, customers can then purchase the items at a savings from the listed price. To start, more than 150,000 items from sellers on Amazon are enabled with the "Make an Offer" experience across Sports and Entertainment Collectibles, Collectible Coins and Fine Art. The new feature will expand to hundreds of thousands of items from sellers in 2015. The "Make an Offer" feature is not an auction format. All negotiations are 1:1 and private between individual customers and sellers. A seller is able to accept a customerís offer at any time. The intention is to lower prices, and a customer negotiating with a seller will never pay more than the listed price.
