News Breaks | | | | September 14, 2012 | | 07:32 EDT |  | NBY | NovaBay expands strategic marketing agreement for NeutroPhase in Southeast Asia NovaBay Pharmaceuticals announced that it has expanded its commercial partnership agreement with Naqu Area Pioneer Pharma Co., Ltd., a Shanghai-based company that markets high-end pharmaceutical products into China, for the commercialization of NeutroPhase Skin and Wound Cleanser in select Asian markets in addition to China. Under the terms of the agreement, NovaBay will receive an upfront payment of $500,000, with additional payments totaling $200,000 that may be triggered by certain milestones. In addition, Pioneer Pharma Pte Ltd., an affiliate of Naqu Area Pioneer Pharma Co., Ltd., has agreed to make a two-tranche equity investment in unregistered and untradeable NovaBay common stock that could reach $5.5M. After an initial investment of $1.0M immediately, plus another $1.5M contingent on obtaining regulatory approval, for the issuance of units consisting of shares and warrants -- a total of 2M shares and warrants to purchase 2M shares) in 2012, Pioneer has the option to invest up to another 2M shares at $1.50 per share over the next twelve months upon exercise of the warrants. | |

NovaBay is conducting a Phase 2 clinical study of Auriclosene Flush Solution in the management of urinary catheter blockage and encrustation in patients with long-term indwelling catheters. Top-line results from the trial are expected in Q3. NovaBay has partnered with Galderma to develop Auriclosene Gel for treatment of highly contagious skin infection, impetigo, which occurs most commonly in children. Galderma expects to complete enrollment in Q3, and top-line results are expected in Q4. The Phase 2b trial, BAYnovation, is investigating Auriclosene Ophthalmic Solution as a treatment for adenoviral conjunctivitis, a highly contagious form of "pink eye." There is no approved treatment for this infection in the world. Enrollment in this trial began in May 2012 and is expected to complete in Q4. | |
