Micron (MU) CEO Makr Durcan said the company is looking to establish strategic cooperating with Taiwan-based contract chipmakers and it has approached TSMC (TSM) to build potential partnerships, reports DigiTimes. After years of price competition and industry consolidation, analysts do not expect any new memory chip capacity to be introduced this year, which coupled with rising demand driven by smartphone growth is set to feed through into prices, Financial Times said.
