McGraw-Hill (MHP) is said to be in exclusive talks with Apollo Global (APO) over the sale of its education unit, according to a Wall Street Journal report citing people familiar with matter. The report states that the education unit will likely go for less than $2.5B, though sources told the Wall Street Journal McGraw-Hill had initially sought $3B-$4B for the unit. Reference Link

Private equity firms including Apollo Global Management (APO), Hellman & Friedman and KKR (KKR) are said to be preparing initial bids for pet-supply retailer PetSmart (PETM), says the Wall Street Journal. PetSmart which is based in Phoenix and has around 1,350 stores has a market capitalization of around $7B, added the Wall Street Journal.
