09:10 EDTMDMMountain Province Diamonds says Gahcho Kue project remains on schedule
As at the end of February 2014 the overall project was 17 percent complete and first production remains on schedule for Q3 2016. A total of approximately 670 truckloads of equipment and supplies have so far been delivered to Gahcho Kué on the 2014 ice road. A further approximately 100 truckloads are expected to be delivered by the end of March. There are currently approximately 120 people on site and this number is expected to increase through the balance of the year. At peak construction there will be approximately 700 people employed at Gahcho Kué. Work to date has been completed without any lost-time injuries.

Mountain Province Diamonds announced that it has entered into an agreement with a syndicate of underwriters led jointly by BMO Capital, RBC Capital and Scotia Capital, under which the underwriters have agreed to buy, on a bought deal basis by way of private placement, 15M common shares at a price of C$5.00 per share for gross proceeds of C$75M. Concurrently, the company intends undertaking a non-brokered private placement 5M common shares at a price of C$5.00 per share, to be sold to Bottin Investments and other qualified investors. The company intends to use the net proceeds of the offering for the continued development of its Gahcho Ku project and for general corporate purposes. The offering and the non-brokered placement are expected to close on or about October 16.
