09:10 EDTBAC, MBIMBIA legacy unit default event won't derail stock, says MKM Partners
After The New York Post suggested that MBIA (MBI) is on track to run out of cash in four months, MKM Partners says that a default at the company's legacy unit would not affect the common stock or trigger an acceleration of holding company debt, due to changes the company made in its bond structure late last year. The firm believes that the company's outlook continues to hinge on the outcome of its litigation with Bank of America (BAC). MKM expects the sides to eventually settle the case, and it maintains a Buy rating on MBIA.
