12:11 EDTLVS, MGM, WYNNGoldman analyst says Macau growth strong
Gross gaming revenue from the Chinese region of Macau is growing at an 18.4% clip this year, Goldman Sachs analyst Steven Kent wrote in a note to investors. WHAT'S NEW: Macau's gross gaming revenue, or GGR, growth has surpassed all expectations held at the beginning of the year, Kent believes. Noting that Goldman's Hong Kong analyst expects Macau's GGR to expand at a compound annual rate of 22% until 2017, Kent predicted that the region's growth would be "solid and sustainable." Las Vegas Sands (LVS) is exposed to the fastest growing segment of Macau, while MGM Resorts (MGM) and Wynn Resorts (WYNN) should also benefit from solid Macau trends, the analyst wrote. He raised his price target on Las Vegas Sands to $86 from $77, on Wynn to $201 from $183, and on MGM to $20 from $18. Kent kept Buy ratings on Las Vegas Sands and Wynn, and a Neutral rating on MGM. PRICE ACTION: In early afternoon trading, Las Vegas Sands was unchanged at $77, Wynn Resorts inched up 0.2% to $182.80, and MGM gained 0.6% to $22.35.
