L-3 Communications has been awarded a $24M contract to deliver communications units for NASA’s Common Communications for Visiting Vehicles program. The contract includes design and delivery of four S-Band flight units, along with associated flight equivalent units, spares, ground support equipment and compatibility test sets. The C2V2 program has an expected mission life of 13 years.

09:06 EDTLLLL-3 Communications awarded $38.5M contract for SATCOM terminals
L-3 Communications announced that it has been awarded a $38.5M contract from the Commonwealth of Australia to supply 51 Hawkeye III Lite 1.2-meter Very Small Aperture Terminals, as well as training and long-term sustainment services. Specifically, the contract will deliver one type of a family of transportable land terminals that will optimize the early use of Australia’s SATCOM system and provide communication services where commercial satellite resources are limited. The capability is scheduled for delivery in 2014.
