Deutsche Bank estimates Cerner (CERN) could receive 20%-30% of the $4.33B Department of Defense contract awarded to the team of Cerner, Leidos (LDOS), Accenture (ACN) and their bidding group. Deutsche believes the contract also provides "significant indirect benefits" for Cerner in the marketplace. It keeps a Buy rating on the stock with an $85 price target.

The E-SITE contract vehicle was solicited on the basis of full and open competition, and 77 proposals were received. After conducting a thorough evaluation based on the request for proposal criteria, contracts are being awarded to 25 large businesses and 25 small businesses. Each company will be awarded a $500 minimum guarantee and additional funding will be obligated on individual task orders with the initial follow-on task order competitions scheduled this summer. The Virginia Contracting Activity, Washington, District of Columbia, is the contracting activity.

Leidos was awarded a prime contract by the U.S. Army Research Laboratory to provide intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance concepts research and development. The multiple-award cost-plus fixed-fee indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract has a five-year period of performance and a total contract value of approximately $49M for all awardees. Leidos is one of seven awardees eligible to compete for task orders under the contract.
