14:48 EDTKKellogg technical notes before results
The stock has been trading in a sideways range for more than two years that is largely bound by a low at $60 and a high at $70. With price last at $64.38, the shares are nearly in the middle of that range. Shares don't typically react strongly to earnings news. The issue now is whether the news will be strong enough to push the stock to either end of the range and for the range to find either a new higher low or lower high. On the off chance that the news is sufficiently strong to push the stock above $70, the next likely upside objective would be in the $72.50 to $75 range. If the news were strongly bearish and the $60 level were broken, it would have the potential for the long-term uptrend to be broken. The 50-month moving average at $58.91 would be an important support level to watch, with a break below it bearish for the long-term trend.
