07:45 EDTKOIcahn says abstentions like Buffet's on Coke 'dangerous' for economy
In an editorial published in this weekend's Barron's, Carl Icahn called Warren Buffett's abstention from a vote on Coca-Cola's executive-pay plan "very dangerous for the future of our economy." Icahn added in his summary that "at most boards there is no question that top management ranks far ahead of employees or the shareholders." In his response, Buffet stated that Ichan's exposure to boards "likely involves some adverse selection," noting that Icahn is probably focused on "companies he considers to be poor performers." While Buffet stated he agrees with some of Icahn's observations, he also said "there's more than one way to effect change." Reference Link
