08:01 EDTNGDNew Gold receives environmental approvals for Rainy River project
New Gold announces that the company has received the key environmental approvals for its Rainy River project located in Ontario, Canada. The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency and the Ontario Ministry of Environment and Climate Change separately completed their detailed assessments of the Rainy River project and subsequently announced their respective decisions. The Federal Environmental Assessment approval was granted on January 12, 2015 and the Provincial approval was granted on January 29, 2015. Receipt of these approvals now enables the company to apply for other permits through the development and operational phases of the project and to begin its preliminary development work at site in the coming weeks.

The expectation for the full year is for organic sales growth of more than 6%, and an adjusted operating margin of around 9.5%. The company commented, "In 2015 we anticipate an expansion in overall operating margin despite record investments in both capital and R&D. This is made possible by our continued market leadership in passive safety. Our full year growth rate for active safety will be affected by the fact that new launches will mainly come in the later part of 2015. Our electronics margin is negatively affected by the stronger dollar."

Spectra Energy (SE) and Spectra Energy Partners (SEP) announced that, through their affiliate, Spectra Energy Transmission II, have entered into a purchase and sale agreement to acquire from ConocoPhillips Company (COP) 100% of the equity interests in Brazoria Interconnector Gas Pipeline, which owns the BIG Pipeline. The newly acquired BIG Pipeline will be a component of the Stratton Ridge Project, an expansion project of the Texas Eastern Transmission pipeline system to deliver up to 400,000 dekatherms per day of natural gas to Stratton Ridge, Texas. The Stratton Ridge Project, including the BIG Pipeline acquisition, has an expected capital expenditure of approximately $200M and is anticipated to be in service Q1 FY19. The acquisition is expected to close in Q2 FY16, subject to certain conditions precedent being met.
