07:28 EDTWFC, DB, JPM, GS, MS, HBC, USB, BAC, CFSB pegs JPMorgan, Citi, Deutsche, HSBC as most central banks, WSJ says
The Financial Stability Board, or FSB, which coordinates the global regulatory response to the financial crisis on behalf of the Group of 20, identified Citigroup (C), JPMorgan (JPM), HSBC Holdings (HBC) and Deutsche Bank (DB) as the four banks most central to the system and said those four should be subject to a capital surcharge of 2.5% above the statutory minimums laid out in "Basel III," reported The Wall Street Journal. The FSB said 24 other banks on its list should be subjected to smaller surcharges of between 1%-2% above the capital equivalent of 7% of risk-weighted assets required by Basel III rules.
