| theflyonthewall.com: | Earnings Preview: Juniper Networks Q4 should be solid | | Juniper Networks (JNPR) is expected to report Q4 earnings after the market close on Thursday, January 28, with a conference call scheduled for 4:45 pm ET. The consensus estimate is 26c for EPS and $884.81M for revenue, according to First Call. Citigroup expects Juniper Networks' results to come in towards the high-end of management's $860M-$895M revenue and 23c-26c EPS guidance range. The firm is modeling $870M and 25c. While Citigroup continues to recommend Juniper shares for investors with a 12-month horizon, they believe investor concerns around the competitive dynamics in the routing market and Juniper's ability to deliver on its operating leverage in the face of new R&D initiatives likely dampen upside on the shares near-term. Citigroup expects Juniper to address these issues in detail at its February 23rd analyst day. Citigroup says that supply chain data points to networking end demand strength. The firm sees the carrier capex environment improving, and expects a rebound in routing. Citigroup expects continued share gains in the enterprise segment, driven in part by the first quarter of revenue contribution from Juniper's IBM (IBM) OEM relationship. Looking Forward: Citigroup on Jan. 26 raised their Q1 Juniper estimates slightly to 25c on $876M in revenue, slightly above consensus of 24c and $873.22M. The firm expects management to provide flattish-to-slightly-down top line guidance reflecting seasonality and the fact that the industry remains in the early stages of the carrier capex recovery. On the conference call: analysts will be looking for forward guidance, comments on competition, as well as regarding its merger and acquisitions ambitions. Additional details would be appreciated on Juniper's Jan.25 announce of a partnership with Polycom (PLCM) for video conferencing to compete with industry leader Cisco Systems (CSCO). :theflyonthewall.com |
