theflyonthewall.com: Johnson & Johnson breaks out of reversed broadening formation
There was a reversed broadening formation on the weekly chart that had bearish implications had the bottom of the pattern been broken. The pattern began forming in mid-July. The breakout above the top of the pattern now has bullish implications. Upside potential for the pattern is to the $67 area. The $62.70 area is now key support for the shares, and the bullish pattern would be voided on a move back below this level. :theflyonthewall.com

theflyonthewall.com: Boston Scientific settles patent disputes with Johnson & Johnson
Boston Scientific Corporation (BSX) announced the settlement of three patent disputes with Johnson & Johnson (JNJ). The disputes date back to 2003 and cover Boston Scientific's Jang patent and J&J's Palmaz and Gray patents, all of which involve intellectual property in the cardiovascular arena. Boston Scientific will make a $1.725B payment to J&J in connection with the settlement. Under the settlement, Boston Scientific will pay J&J $1B today and the balance on or before the first week of January 2011. The Company plans to post a $745M letter of credit, which will cover the $725M balance and interest. The payments will not have an appreciable impact on the Company's debt covenants. After the payments, the Company will still have significant liquidity under its credit facilities, and it continues to expect to refinance its 2011 debt maturities in the middle of this year. The Company expects to fund the $725M remaining balance from cash on hand, unless it refinances at an earlier date. :theflyonthewall.com

theflyonthewall.com: Barrons.com sees five drug candidates boosting their company's sales in 2010
According to Decision Resources, drug companies could receive FDA approval for 50 new therapies this year with the potential to generate sales totaling $15B a year by 2015. Some drugs have the ability to shine above the others and boost the bottom lines of the companies that make them. Doctors and industry experts helped Barrons.com find five drug candidates that could hit the U.S. market in 2010, improving the treatment of serious illnesses. The list includes Novo Nordisk's (NVO) diabetes drug, Victoza, and Dendreon's (DNDN) prostate cancer therapy, Provenge. Then there's Vivus' (VVUS) obesity treatment, Qnexa, and Amgen's (AMGN) remedy for osteoporosis, Prolia. Finally, Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) and Bayer (BAYRY) hope to jointly market a blood thinner, Xarelto. Bottom-line: these five drugs could be what the doctor ordered for a sales-starved industry and investors looking for returns. Reference Link :theflyonthewall.com
