Jamba completes two refranchising transactions for roughly $4.85M In a regulatory filing, Jamba reports that on April 28, Jamba Juice, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jamba, completed the refranchising of a group of stores located in the San Francisco Bay Area as part of the company’s refranchising initiative. Jamba Juice transferred to M5 Partners all property associated with the stores for a purchase price of $1.85M plus payment for inventory and cash at the stores. M5 Partners agreed to enter into a standard franchise agreement with a ten-year term. In another refranchising transaction completed on April 28, Jamba Juice sold its 88% membership interest in Jamba Juice Southern California to Strategic Marketing Sciences, its minority partner in the joint venture. The purchase price for the membership interest was $3M plus payment for all inventory and cash. Strategic Marketing Sciences also entered a franchise agreement with a ten-year term.
