Focusing on the continued growth of its robust Corporate Solutions business, Jones Lang LaSalle has announced that effective in early 2014, John Forrest will take the position of Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Solutions, Americas. Forrest currently serves as CEO of JLL's Corporate Solutions business in Asia Pacific. In that capacity, he has led the growth of the firm's corporate real estate services business line to a market leadership position in the region. He will report to Lauralee Martin, CEO, Americas.

Cushman & Wakefield, the third-largest property-services firm in the world after CBRE Group (CBG) and Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), is being put up for sale by the Italian family that controls it, according to The Wall Street Journal, citing people familiar with the matter. The Agnelli family prefer a privately held buyer and won't consider selling to a direct competitor, the sources told the Journal. Reference Link

The move higher in shares of J.C. Penney (JCP) is being attributed to speculation the company may look to monetize its real estate assets. The speculation seems to be originating from a Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) employee's webpage showing the retailer as a client. The JLL employee, Stephen Bridges, specializes in "assisting industrial users with the lease, purchase, and sale of real estate." It is not clear when Penny became a client of JLL. Shares of Penny rallied to a high of $8.50, and are trading up 16c to $8.29 in early trading. Reference Link
