Johnson Controls is growing its presence in China by opening a new automotive battery manufacturing plant that will produce 6M automotive batteries per year in the world's largest new vehicle market, where 22M new vehicles are produced annually.The global multi-industrial company's new 133,000 square meter facility in Chongqing City reflects an investment of $154M. Located in Fuling District of Chongqing, in Western China, the new plant will bring state-of-the-art technology and services to customers.

Wells Fargo beleives that Johnson Controls (JCI) and Magna (MGA) could be hurt in the intermediate term by Toyota's (TM) decision to merge the seating manufacturing operations of four of its affiliates. Wells thinks Toyota's move should make bidding for seating deals more competitive. It keeps Market Perform ratings on Johnson Controls and Magna.
