Reports Q2 revenue $1.49B, consensus $1.51B. Revenue passenger miles for Q2 increased 5.7% to 9.6B on a capacity increase of 6.0%, resulting in a second quarter load factor of 84.6%, a decrease of 0.3 points year over year. Yield per passenger mile in the second quarter was 14.25c, up 6.3% compared to the second quarter of 2013. Passenger revenue per available seat mile, or PRASM, for Q2 increased 6.0% year over year to 12.05c and operating revenue per available seat mile, or RASM, increased 5.6% year over year to 13.12c. The shift of the Easter and Passover holidays from March last year to April this year positively impacted second quarter year over year PRASM by approximately two points.

U.S. airlines said they expect to obtain "enormous" savings in 2015 from the decline in oil prices, according to Reuters. The airlines indicated that they would use the savings to pay down debt and return cash to shareholders, while refraining from cutting fares, the news service stated. Traffic in December increased 5.6% from December 2013, on a capacity increase of 7.2%. Load factor for December 2014 was 81.6%, a decrease of 1.3 points from December 2013. JetBlue's preliminary completion factor was 99.5% and its on-time performance was 80.3%. JetBlue's preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile for the month of December decreased 6% year over year. For the fourth quarter 2014, PRASM is expected to be relatively flat compared to last year.
