11:10 EDTJBLUJetBlue, Etihad Airways confirm codeshare plans
JetBlue Airways and Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, announced plans to begin codeshare operations. The agreement, which is subject to government approval, will see Etihad Airways place its "EY" code on JetBlue-operated flights, initially facilitating connections between the two airlines at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Washington's Dulles International Airport. In the first stage of the partnership, Etihad Airways will codeshare on 40 JetBlue routes within the US. Further codeshare services are planned on JetBlue flights once Etihad Airways commences daily flights to Los Angeles from June.

JetBlue Airways confirmed that in a unionization vote among JetBlue's 2,529 pilots a majority of pilots who cast a vote elected ALPA as their representative. The National Mediation Board will authorize ALPA as the representative body for JetBlue pilots, and then both JetBlue and ALPA will organize negotiating committees, the company said.

JetBlue Airways Corporation reported its preliminary traffic results for March. Traffic in March increased 0.9% from March 2013, on a capacity increase of 3.7%. Load factor for March was 84.8%, a decrease of 2.3 points from March 2013. JetBlue's preliminary completion factor was 98.0% and its on-time performance was 77.2%. JetBlue's preliminary passenger revenue per available seat mile for the month of March decreased 8% year over year. March PRASM was negatively impacted by the shift in the Easter and Passover holidays from March last year.
