There are signs that China's photovoltaic solar energy market is rebounding, China Securities Journal reported Friday, according to WantChinaTimes. Over 75% of solar cell producers listed on China's two main stock markets were profitable in 2013 or provided "optimistic" guidance for this year, Xinhua stated, according to WantChinaTimes. Moreover, analysts are predicting that the global photovoltaic demand would increase by 20%-30% this year, WantChinaTimes added. Publicly traded China-based companies in the space include Canadian Solar (CSIQ), JA Solar (JASO), SunPower (SPWR), Trina Solar (TSL) and Yingli Green Energy (YGE). Reference Link

Canadian Solar announced that it has won 3 solar photovoltaic projects totaling 110 megawatts in Pirapora, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. Canadian Solar will develop and build the solar power plants. Once connected to the grid, the electricity generated will be sold to CCEE, under a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement at approximately $78.8/MWh. The three projects are targeted to reach commercial operation by late 2018.
